In the FAQs section (Frequently asked questions) we answer your open questions about the Halloween Horror Festival

  • Can I come in costume?

    In order to be able to distinguish you from our actors at all times, you are not allowed to wear your own costumes or scary make-up.

  • Are you allowed to film or take photos?

    Filming and photography in the horror houses and in the show “Madhouse - Insanity Lives Here” is strictly prohibited. This also applies to all rides. The park rules apply.

  • Is there an offer for children?

    The children's Halloween takes place during the NRW vacations and on all Halloween event days from 12:00 - 17:00. You can find the attractions in nickelodeon LAND.

  • Where can I buy a Scarebutton?

    Scarebuttons are available in the Happy End (Creepy Horror Store). The store is located on Horrorwood Boulevard.

  • Who are the horror houses not suitable for?

    Strobe effects and flickering light sequences are sometimes used in the attractions, rides and shows. Certain sequences may have negative effects on light-sensitive visitors or guests suffering from epilepsy. Furthermore, the horror houses are not suitable for pregnant women, asthmatics, people with sensitive psyche and cardiovascular problems.

    Our horror houses contain dark rooms, narrow corridors and obstacles that must be negotiated.

  • Are the horror houses barrier-free?

    The Slaughterhouse, Secrets of St. Elmo - Last Hunt and Circus of Freaks are barrier-free. The show “UNHALLOWED - THE FREAK SHOW STRAIGHT OUT OF HELL” is also barrier-free.

    Please note that electric wheelchairs may require more space. Please speak to our staff on site.

  • How big are the groups in the horror houses?

    The group size depends on the operational conditions and can vary from attraction to attraction. The average group size is 8-10 people per ride.

  • Where can I book tickets for the horror houses and shows?

    Tickets for the horror houses and shows are available here.

  • How many horror houses can I manage in one evening?

    For a stress-free and relaxed Halloween experience, we recommend visiting a maximum of 4 horror attractions per evening. Please be aware of the distances and waiting times to and from other attractions in the park.

  • Is there a monster-free zone?

    Yes, nickelodeon LAND is monster-free again this year.

  • Can you also go to the Halloween Horror Festival with the normal day tickets?

    Yes, admission includes the stay during the Halloween Horror Festival. The horror houses and show “Unhallowed - The Freak Show Straight Out of Hell”, must be booked separately for an additional charge.

  • How old do you have to be for the Halloween Horror Festival and the horror houses?

    We recommend visiting the Halloween Horror Festival from the age of 12.

    Minimum age for the horror houses is 16 years, only “The Curse of Chupacabra” is suitable from 12 years.

  • On which days does the Halloween Horror Festival 2024 take place?

    The Halloween Horror Festival will take place on selected event days between September 28 and November 10, 2024.

  • Do I need to prepare for the horror houses?

    We recommend wearing clothes that can get dirty for the horror houses Final Stop, Hell House, The Curse of Chupacabra and Murder Museum. In some of these horror houses you will have to crawl.

  • What does ZERO TOLERANCE mean?

    We have ZERO TOLERANCE to verbal, aggressive and violent behavior towards our performers and staff! Guests are not permitted to wear full disguises of any kind or make-up that prevents facial identification. No dangerous objects or weapons may be carried.

    You will be immediately expelled from the park without a ticket refund.

  • Will the monsters touch me?

    It is possible for our monsters to touch you in certain situations. Please note, however, that you are not allowed to touch our actors. If you don't want to do this, then the panic button is just the right companion for your stay at Horrorwood Studios!
